VIVIANA SOFRONITSKY inaugurates a new kind of piani**,exploring the sensuous and complete world of sound **ailable to classical and romantic composers with their then new pianos.She is tr**eling worldwide with her high-quality instruments,built faithfully to the best original examples.
Viviana began her music studies in her family,following in the footsteps of her father,Vladimir Sofronitsky,the distinguished Russian pianist.After earning a DMA from the Moscow Conservatory she studied early music in Oberlin,US.In 1999 Viviana Sofronitsky received historical fortepiano and harpsichord performance degrees from the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag.
Viviana Sofronitsky was awarded the First Prize at the Bach Tage Berlin competition,as well as main prizes at the Musica Antiqua competition at the MAFestival,Brugge.She performed at leading festivals and concert halls,including Printemps des Arts,Nantes,Leipzig Bach Festival,Flanders Festival,the Handel**eurs and de Bijloke in Gent,Oslo Chamber Music Festival,Tage Alte Musik Berlin and Klang und Raumin Germany,Oude Musik in Utrecht and many others.She will appear in London’s Wigmore Hall in a special 4 forte-piano programme in 2011.
Viviana Sofronitsky gives masterclasses and lecture performances and has featured often in European and American broadcasts.Viviana has recorded with"Suoni e colori","Globe","Passacaille"and"Pro Musica Camerata"(complete Mozart concertos,with Musicae Antiquae Collegium Varsoviense).She has recently released a CD of Mendelssohn(with cellist Serge Istomin)and her current recording projects include Schubert on early romantic instrument and Chopin on a copy of Chopin’s f**ourite Pleyel fortepiano.

Viviana Sofronitsky-Russian-Canadian pianist,was born in Moscow,in the family of distinguished Russian,Soviet pianist Vladimir Sofronitsky.Viviana received Doctorate degree from the Moscow Conservatory
She worked with both leading Early Music groups,“Madrigal”and the“Chamber Music Academy”,guided by Alexei Lubimov.At the same time was giving solo concerts throughout the former USSR,including Moscow,Leningrad,Kiev,Minsk,Sverdlovsk etc.
In 1989 moved to USA,in Oberlin College she studied ancient music
In 1990 she moved to Canada,where she was actively touring and recording in the studio She performed with many musicians from the Toronto“Tafelmusik”orchestra”.
